History

Villa Corsano

Villa Corsano can be traced back to X century, when it was the hunting residence of Berengario the II king of Lombardy. From Villa Corsano started an edict regarding the town of Bergamo.
In the Middle Ages the villa, together with the nearby Romanesque church la Pieve di S.Giovanni was under the domain of the Archbishop of Siena.

In the Renaissance period, the Bonisignori banking family of Siena acquired the villa and transformed it into the beautiful residence that remains until today. After the death of the last Bonisignori, Niccolo the property was left to a charitable trust until it was bought at the beginning of the last century by Giovanni Migone, a banker from Genova as an investment.

Giovanni and Marianna had 11 children. One of them, my father, moved his family from Genova to Villa Corsano to escape the bombing of the port during World War 11. Villa Corsano has remained the home of my family ever since.

In the last twenty years become a touristic resort, situated in a beautiful area 15 minutes South of Siena, with the view on the clay Hills South of Siena and all the forests in the way to the sea side.
The perfect place for a relaxing vacation in the heart of Tuscany
Very recommended for family reunions, weddings, parties etc. etc.

It will be hard to put in words what a wonderful experience it was staying at Villa Corsano. From the hospitality of Anna Rosa and her son Jacopo who were the consummate hosts; to the magnificent and comfortable villa ( the pictures don’t do it justice) to the heavenly setting in Beautiful Tuscany – close to Siena and many important historic sites . I and our group all loved it there. We each came away with lasting memories of community, adventure, fun and learning in the most peaceful of settings.
